The Golden State Warriors fans won’t like the Miami Heat legend’s claim about the effect Jimmy Butler has had on them.
The Miami Heat don’t appear to be a serious contender to make it to the playoffs right now. With an 8-game losing streak and a 10th-place standing in the Eastern Conference, they don’t appear to be good enough to make a mark in the post-season.
Though the Heat were not doing particularly well this season even when Jimmy Butler was in South Beach, since his trade to the Golden State Warriors, Miami\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s form has taken a nosedive.
The franchise seems to have fallen short of filling the void that has been created by Butler\\\\\\\’s departure despite getting Andrew Wiggins, Davion Mitchell and Kyle Anderson in return.
Since joining the Heat in 2019, Butler made it to the NBA Finals twice, so there is no question that he was the team\\\\\\\’s face and one of the effective playoff performers in the league.
Since his arrival, the Warriors have looked like Championship contenders. Acquiring Butler has undoubtedly given them the push to support Stephen Curry and their chances of contending for another ring.
However, Heat legend Udonis Haslem has expressed a different perspective on Butler\\\’s acquisition by the Warriors and their chances of winning the championship this season.
During a recent appearance on NBA Today on ESPN, Haslem said: “I’m looking at the record of the teams that they’ve played, and we’re talking about 312 wins to 364 losses. I would argue that some of these teams they probably could have beat without Jimmy. Now, Jimmy has given them a boost. It’s like a shot of whiskey right now, but we’ll see if it lasts throughout the playoffs.”
Butler has certainly helped turn the Warriors into a winning team since joining them. He has not done anything particularly noteworthy in terms of numbers but the win column speaks in his favour. They have lost just twice with him on the court.
On the other hand, the Heat look lost. Is it time to focus on a rebuild or make one last swing in the summer and go after a star like Kevin Durant?
