BREAKING: Stephen Curry Makes NBA Playoff History During Warriors-Rockets Matchup

Sports

The Golden State Warriors entered Game 2 of their first round series against the Houston Rockets looking to take a commanding 2-0 series lead before heading home for Game 3 and 4.

Of course, the Warriors took Game 1 of the series on Sunday behind an incredible performance out of their superstar duo of Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler.

That would not the case on Wednesday though, as the Warriors fell to the Rockets 109-94 as Houston was able to tie the series at a game apiece.

It was a disastrous game for the Warriors as Butler left the matchup late in the first quarter after suffering a pelvic contusion after taking a hard fall on a rebound attempt.

With Butler missing the remainder of the game and Brandin Podziemski limited due to an illness, Golden State was not able to take a commanding lead in the series.

While the Warriors were unable to pick up a victory on Wednesday, their superstar point guard Curry made NBA playoff history.

In Wednesday’s game, Curry became just the 11th player in NBA history to reach 4,000 career points in the playoffs.

This is an incredible feat for Curry, who has become one of the best playoff performers in league history.

Curry finished Wednesday’s Game 2 matchup with 20 points on 6-15 shooting from the field and 4-9 shooting from three-point range to go along with five rebounds and nine assists.

Unfortunately for Golden State, Curry’s great performance was not enough as they fell to Houston, but it is still an impressive milestone for the future Hall of Fame point guard to reach.

Curry and the Warriors will now look to regain control of the series in Game 3 on Saturday, but they may be without Butler depending on how serious his pelvic injury is.
